Oh, man. David Eddings passed away.

No, his books weren't the most quality literature out there, but they were fun and I enjoyed them and they were the first real grown-up books I read, so they'll always have a special place in my heart.

So sad.

I just redid my tags to make them easier for me and holy balls, I have a lot of fandom tags. I defined "fandom" as "anything I'm interested in enough to seek out an LJ community or if it made an appearance on Fandom Wank, I wouldn't need to ask questions about the source material" not necessarily something I've written for or really participated in ( Read more... )

aphraels_island is just a trivia community; they ask one question a week from any of the books (Belgariad, Mallorean, Elenium, Tamuli and The Redemption of Althalus) and that's it. So if you're like me and bad at participating in communities, it's fun. And it's an excuse to re-read Eddings. ;P
